Kinetic Collection
Seiko introduced the world’s first automatic power-generating quartz watch in 1988, which was later to be known as the Seiko Kinetic. Seiko’s Kinetic watch combines a self-winding rotor mechanism (as used in automatic mechanical watches) to generate electricity to power a piezoelectric quartz crystal timing element. The Seiko Kinetic therefore avoids the environmental impact of batteries.
